How to Pair Your Phone to Your Hyundai

March 15th, 2019 by

Your Hyundai car and your smartphone are the perfect pair: One gets you where you need to go, and the other keeps you on-course, in-touch, and entertained while you get there.

Luckily, you can sync the two together in many new Hyundai vehicles thanks to Bluetooth. Here’s how to pair your phone to your new Hyundai vehicle.

How to Pair Your Phone to Your Hyundai

First, with the car on, press the “PHONE” button below the in-dash touchscreen. If no devices are paired, it will show you a screen with your Hyundai vehicle’s Bluetooth name, usually just the model of car like “SONATA” or “SANTA FE.”

Then, enable Bluetooth on your smartphone and have it search for nearby devices. When you have spotted your car on the list, select it. A passkey will display both on your vehicle screen and on your phone: Make sure they match, and then select “Pair.”

You’ll then have the option to make your phone the primary phone for the vehicle–meaning it will automatically pair if you’re in the car with the phone’s Bluetooth turned on. From there, you can download your phone contacts to your car for instant navigation.

And that’s it! Now you’re Michael Knight, and you’ll be able to use your smartphone’s calling and music capabilities in your car, either by directing it on your Hyundai’s in-dash screen or by pressing the voice command button on your Hyundai steering wheel and telling the car what to do when prompted.
